STATE OF THE MALAYSIAN RAINFOREST 2025: CONVERSION OUTLOOK AND EMERGING TRENDS

The purpose of this chapter, which focuses on predicting forest conversion ex-ante, is to refine and update the findings of RimbaWatch’s State of the Malaysian Rainforest 2024 report, accounting for the most recently-available spatial forest cover dataset from the Joint Research Centre Tropical Moist Forest hub, an updated concession dataset accounting for recently-documented threats, and re calculation of threatened forests within concessions reflecting the updated forest cover datasets.
